What to Bring

Nothing quite compares to a live, outdoor music event for you and your family, and the Wortham Blues Festival provides a great way to enjoy some of the best Blues Texas has to offer! We'll have plenty of good food and music, but we recommend you bring along a few things to help make this year's event a safe and enjoyable experience.

Lawn Chair

The Wortham Blues Festival takes place on Main Street in Downtown Wortham. Past attendees have commented on the "patio feel" of gathering with friends and family on the brick streets in the comfort of a lawn chair. Festivalgoers are encouraged to bring along an easy-to-carry lawn chair to help them kick back and enjoy the music!

Brimmed Hat

Septembers in Texas can be brutal if you don't have a good hat or cap to shield the sun. The buildings and awnings inside the festival gates provide some good shade if you're lucky enough to arrive early and stake your claim; however, we recommend bringing along a hat (preferably with a wide brim) so you can take your shade with you wherever you go! You'll be glad you did!

Sunscreen

The painful sunburn you got at the Wortham Blues Festival is a souvenir you DO NOT WANT! Be sure and pack some sunscreen with a good SPF rating and apply generously to family members and friends whether they want you to or not!

Portable Cooler

The Wortham Blues Festival is a BYO event and does not restrict people from bringing a cooler stocked with beverages of their choosing; however, we do insist on NO GLASS CONTAINERS! An easy-to-transport cooler is recommended to keep your beverages cold, and can even serve as a makeshift end table or footrest! If you decide not to bring a cooler, don't worry -- we'll have plenty of bottled water and soft drinks available for purchase.

Sunglasses

Not only does a good pair of shades make you look cool, they also provide UV protection for your eyes and reduces glare from that bright September sun!

The Wortham Blues Festival is a safe, family-friendly event for people of all ages. We urge all festivalgoers to drink responsibly, lock their vehicles, and not leave valuables in plain sight or unattended. The Wortham Area Chamber of Commerce is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.
